FAQ's

What is the correct size or height pedestal for cars to be abe to access its keypad or intercom?

This is one of the most common questions we get from customers.

If you are mounting your pedestal on a 6" cement curb, as is usually the case, the 42" pedestal will do just fine. See our model P42-B

Hence the terms: curb mounted pedestal and/or pad mounted pedestal.

(The pedestals in the photos above are both "mounted" to a cement curb)

If however you do not have a curb to mount your gooseneck pedestal, and you will be pouring your own cocrete. you may wish to use a 64" In-ground pedestal that does not have a pad welded to the bottom of it. This way you can dig down far enough so that when you pour your own concrete to hold the pedestal in place securely, you will have the correct height.

If you try to mount a 42" pad mounted pedestal without a 6" cement curb, the pedestal will come up too short.
